Today, we want to introduce Evonne Szydlowski – Dec, one of the Piast Institute’s 25 Leaders.
- Bachelor of Science in Physics from Wayne State University
- Served 4 years as secretary of Polish American Congress (1968-1972)
- Off icer of the PNA Youth Section
- Founding member of the Czechowski Scholarship Fund
- Photo reporter for the Polish Daily News (1968-1973)
- Active with the Polish Scouting Organization (1968-1986) fund raising.
- Founding member of the lnternational Radio lnvestment Corporation (1970’s & 1980’s)
- Served 8 years in the PAC Credit Union (credit committee chairman at its startup)
- Served 2 years as Director of Polish Section of the Black-Polish Conference research project.
- Worked as financial advisor (2 years) for lnvestors Diversified Services
- Owner and CEO of Continental Home Style Baking Company (1975-1986)
- Owner and CEO of European Continental lmports lnc. (1978-2016)
- Elected to the City of Hamtramck Charter Revision Commission (2003-2005) served as secretary
- Founder and General Manager of Hamtramck Public TV- Channel-19 operating since 2022.
- Chairman of Hamtramck Beautification Commission (1997-2003)
- Executive Assistant to the Hamtramck Library Board of Directors since 1998
- Recipient of multiple community service awards
- Over the years, worked with a multitude of Polish and American organization in various capacities.
