The 50th Annual National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame (NPASHF) Anniversary Banquet will be held on September 14 at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan.
The National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame (NPASHF) was founded in 1973 to honor and recognize outstanding American athletes, both amateur and professional, of Polish descent ((father or mother must be Polish).
The Polish Media Center crew interviewed two NPASHF Board members – James Conrad and David Jansen. Soon we will share our conversation on video.
We were talking about the mission and the inductees. Who is the first inductee into the National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame? Do you know the answer?
David Jansen describes the organization’s task as recognizing and preserving outstanding achievements by individuals of Polish heritage in sports and educating the entire community to encourage and inspire personal excellence.
James Conrad brought us closer to the history of the founding of the NPASHF.
With over 160 inductees, the National Polish American Sports Hall of Fame has an outstanding collection of historical artifacts on display at their museum housed at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan.
The funds raised by NPASHF go back into supporting the goals of the Hall of Fame, which besides honoring great athletes, also contributes scholarships for worthy young men and women who are true student-athletes in high school.
